Hello friends, this blog will be a great new way for us to communicate.

A recent report highlights the ways that children are targeted by food and beverage companies in their advertising. They realize the value of establishing brand loyalty from an early age, yet Senator Tom Harkin said “Industry needs to step up to the plate and use their innovation and creativity to market healthy foods to our kids. That $1.6 billion could be used to attract our kids to healthy snacks, tasty cereals, fruits and vegetables.”
Parents, until legislatures and the FTC can act on Senator Harkin’s concerns, it is your responsibility to counter these exposures with plenty of fresh air, garden time, farmer’s markets, and trips to the health food stores. Teach your children the value of whole, nutritious food. To see the article discussing the FTC’s findings click here.
